Step 1 – Select the job to be analysed
Consider · Frequency of accidents / injuries and near misses · Rate of disability injuries · Severity of potential consequences · New or modified job Remember - Jobs should not be selected at random! Step 2 - Break the job down into steps · Select an employee to observe · Brief the employee on the purpose and procedure of the JHA · Observe the task being performed · Record each step in the breakdown · Check the breakdown with the employee Step 3 – Identify hazards and potential causes
